SAARC Scholarships Scheme 2010-2011
The Government of Bangladesh has offered 10 scholarships to SAARC Countries students under the SAARC Scholarships Scheme for the year 2010-2011.

Details:

* The scholarships will be awarded for graduate studies & doctoral research in Bangladeshi universities.
* The scholarship will be for the normal tenure of the course for which the scholarship is awarded.

* Selected students will be given a monthly maintenance amount of 15,000 Taka per month.

* Selected students will be given 4,000 Taka for house rent.

* The students will be given a grant of 3,000 Taka for books & stationery.

* Selected students will be given a grant of 25,000 Taka per year for internal travel in Bangladesh.

Terms & Conditions:

* The scholar will be a full time student or research worker under an approved guide on a subject selected by him & approved by the host institution.

* The scholar shall not accept any appointment, elsewhere paid or unpaid.

* Air ticket will be provided to the students by their own government.

* The scholar shall present, through his supervisor, half - yearly report on the progress of work.

* Final selection & placement of the students in the university will be made by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.

Eligibility:

* The student should should have a First Class or High 2nd Class Bachelor's / Master's Degree, intending to pursue higher studies leading to a Master's / PhD Degree.

* Those SAARC member countries in which undergraduate level education is not available, a student from such countries with First Division in Higher School Certificate or equivalent exam, will be selected for undergraduate studies in Bangladesh.

* The student should be preferably under 25 years of age.

Application Procedure:

* Application forms are available on the websites of SAARC & Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

* Last date for the submission of application forms is 31 December, 2010.
